I am so unbelievably excited for the month of October. No, not because I'm obsessed with pumpkin flavored everything...because it is Design Month at Tableau Public!
Why Design Month?
John Maeda, President of the Rhode Island School of Design, spoke to the subject of design and technology in his TCC13 Keynote. He posited that art is not a nice to have in data visualization, "It's a need to have." Design was a common theme throughout this year's customer conference. From John Maeda's keynote to several customer speakers to the Iron Viz competition, those of us in attendance saw firsthand how the right design choices can greatly increase the impact of your data visualizations.
This month, we are rounding up some of the biggest advocates for design in the Tableau Public community to share their thoughts and tips with you throughout the month. I'll also be sharing some of my favorite how-to's and design ideas. If you have any burning design questions, or tips you want to share yourself, tweet me @jeweloree!
