This post is featured as part of Community Month here on Tableau Public.

Thousands of data people will descend on Austin, Texa next week for the annual festival of data known as Tableau Conference. TC16 promises to be the biggest and the best TC yet, and we know that thousands of members of the Tableau Public community will be amongst the hordes of attendees in the Lone Star State.

So, as has been tradition since TC 2013 in Washington DC, the Tableau Public team will be putting on an event just for us, Fanalytics 2016. (Of course, in addition to Fanalytics there are hundreds of other incredible sessions going on at TC. Check out full list and explore the schedule here.)

Fanalytics is a meet up event for Tableau Public users and fans. We'll get a chance to meet in person, hear from several members of the Tableau Public community, and play with data (and have drinks!). It takes place, as is tradition, just after the final keynote of the conference on Thursday afternoon, providing a forum for us all to put into practice the new ideas and skills we will have learned at TC.

We are very excited to announce that this year at Fanalytics, we will be showcasing and hearing from three of the top Tableau Public authors of 2016. Pablo Saenz de Tejada, Chloe Tseng, and Jacob Olsufka all wowed the community this year with their work, and have each offered to share some of their story with us during Fanalytics.

After the presentations by our three speakers, we'll divide into teams and begin working on a real-life Tableau Public data visualization project. Last year we analyzed a Twitter feed of tweets generated at TC15. And this year, we will be exploring election data.

After working on the project, teams will show off their dashboard and our speakers will select the best one as our winner. Then we will start serving drinks and break into an informal networking/happy hour before we all have to say goodbye and officially wrap up another Tableau Conference.

We can't wait to see you in Austin!
