What’s New in 9.3
We introduced the new Analytics Pane in version 9, and the latest release, Tableau Public 9.3, includes brand new visual analytics features that take it a step further. Forecasts now automatically select the best season length to help you visualize patterns, and you can also forecast values ordered by an integer dimension. Your color options got even better in 9.3 - you can separate your totals, subtotals and grand totals by excluding them from color-encoding, and you can give tabs in a workbook a color to help you organize your content.
Follow and Activity View
The Tableau Public community is an amazing place to connect with other talented authors, see what they're building, and learn new skills. To facilitate these all-important people connections, we now give you the ability to follow your favorite authors and see their latest and greatest vizzes by scanning your Activity View. Log in to your Tableau Public author profile page and start building your viz network today!
Take a look at our Viz of the Day page, and you'll immediately notice how important maps are to our authors. We’ve been improving Tableau maps in all of our recent releases, and 9.3 is no different. We’ve added postal codes for 39 European countries, districts in India, and US demographic data layers for 2016. We’ve also updated postal codes for UK, France, Germany, and the US. Tableau maps just keep getting better!
Data Connection and Prep
Here at Tableau, we understand that preparing your data for analysis can be time-consuming. To make the data prep process easier, Tableau Public 9.3 now lets you union, or combine data sets that have been split across multiple Excel or text-based files or tables into a single Tableau data source. Additionally, you can now create groups and bins right in the data grid, and join on columns that have been created from pivots. Less time wrangling with your data means faster results.
