What’s New in 9.2
We introduced the new Analytics Pane in version 9, and the latest release, Tableau Public 9.2, includes brand new visual analytics features that take it a step further. Treemaps now feature borders around the first level of grouping, you can move total and subtotal rows and columns to the top, bottom, left or right, and the colors of labels can now be matched to the mark colors for at-a-glance understanding. Additionally, your custom color choices are now kept across sessions so you can more easily give your views the look you want.
Follow and Activity View
The Tableau Public community is an amazing place to connect with other talented authors, see what they're building, and learn new skills. To facilitate these all-important people connections, we now give you the ability to follow your favorite authors and see their latest and greatest vizzes by scanning your Activity View. Log in to your Tableau Public author profile page and start building your viz network today!
Take a look at our Viz of the Day page, and you'll immediately notice how important maps are to our authors. We continue to partner with online map experts to release new mapping features. In 9.2, you can now seamlessly integrate your Mapbox account to show gorgeous map backgrounds and add layers and context to your Tableau Public vizzes. 9.2 also comes with more geographic data built in, including updated US congressional districts, local name synonyms for world capitals, Japanese postal codes and more.
Data Connection and Prep
Here at Tableau, we understand that preparing your data for analysis can be time-consuming. To make the data prep process easier, we added the powerful Tableau Data Interpreter in 9.0 and in 9.1 we let you connect to data on the web via the Web Data Connector. Now in 9.2, we added sub-table detection that lets you perform big time data clean up in a single click, and the enhanced Data Pane lets you quickly search and change a field's data type.
